Lakeside Quilt Kit / Wilmington Batiks

Lakeside has been designed with a 24 inch center medallion and various borders, including 4 pieced borders, starting with 8 inch sampler-star blocks, one with 9 inch 9-patch blocks, then 3 inch half-triangle blocks, and finally 7-1/2 inch quarter-star blocks. At 95 inch square, the quilt allows for a 9-1/2 inch drop on the sides of a king bed, a 12 inch drop on a Cal. King, or a generous 17-1/2 inch drop on a queen bed. There are triangles in most blocks – half-square, flying geese, and stitch and flip types -along with semi-challenging color placement, so it’s an excellent project for building skills for quilters with moderate experience. Since there really isn’t any “complicated” piecing and since it has limited seam matching, this project could be suited for some confident beginners.

FABRIC: This stunning Lakeside Batik collection is by Wilmington Batiks. The various batik patterns are custom-colored in rich navy blues, light to medium blues, warm greens and grays (both pale and charcoal) to coordinate beautifully in a fresh, trendy color scheme that’s perfect for master bedrooms. The customized colors not only coordinate, but create both fabulous contrast and subtle blending to highlight the design and piecing of the queen sized quilt project.

The kit contains a FREE color copy of the Lakeside pattern/instructions by Wilmington Prints along with enough fabric to complete the Queen Sized Quilt as shown in Picture 1. This kit contains all fabrics required for the top of the quilt and edge binding. Backing and batting will need to be purchased separately.

The overall finished size of this quilt is 95 inch x 95 inch.

8-3/4 yards is recommended for backing fabric assuming a standard 44 inch width or 3 yards if using a 108 inch backing fabric. We carry fabric options for your backing if you would like to purchase it with your kit to receive the free domestic priority mail shipping.

Close to 19 yards of fabric is included with the kit along with the pattern.
